Blessed be the name of the Lord, on the road marked with suffering, Though there’s pain in the offering Blessed be Your name, You give and take away my heart will choose to say blessed be your name.
Words by Matt Redman
He who fears the Lord has a secure fortress. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life. The Lord delights in those who fear him. The fear of the Lord teaches a man wisdom. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him. The fear of the Lord leads to LIFE (taken from the book of PROVERBS).
Fear of the Lord….. Yes, the theme is fear again, but this time it’s the fear of the LORD! The tables have turned. As I have been seeking the Lord to overcome my fear I have realized that my focus has been in the wrong place. I was focusing so much on my fears that I wasn’t focusing on fearing GOD. The fear of people and expectations can eat us alive, but the fear of the LORD is the fountain of life, a secure fortress, and provides wisdom! So let’s take the challenge and FEAR the LORD!
Uganda, doctors, and veggies…. Last week I found myself on a plane heading to Uganda three weeks before my planned time of leave. What happened? School is not quite done and I am in Uganda. Yes, it seemed as though my health just kept going down the tube. So after receiving the okay from the team I headed to Uganda last week to get some treatment. The doctor was able to make an accurate diagnose and now I am on treatment and a prescription to rest! Not any easy task for me. So I have been eating my veggies (seriously a lot of them), sleeping, and enjoying fellowship with friends. God is good to provide some extra time for me to rest, reflect, and grow with HIM.
So despite some of the bumps in the road I can say “blessed be the name of the LORD”.
School and the future….. So as I type the kids at ECA are getting ready for their final exams for the end of first term and wrapping things up the end of next week. It’s weird not to be there, but I know they are in good hands and are working hard. We will then officially be on holiday and I will be off for a couple of more weeks to fully recover before starting second term. I am looking forward to enjoying some time with my sister and friends in Europe. It was hard to leave the kids and the kitchen girls behind as they have all been such a blessing, but it has been a joy to truly rest and enjoy some more one on one time with the LORD. Thank you for your prayers it has been a challenging term, but thank you for your prayers, support, and continual love. There have been many days I could feel God’s presence of peace and love in my heart.
