Tara's African Adventures

“Whatever you do work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord not for men, it is the Lord Jesus Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24

Tara, Judah and Elijah Working with all your heart?..... For who? Last month I found myself exhausted and burnt out. I have been blessed with a time of rest, renewal, and reflection. I was convicted about the focus of my heart. Yes, God has put a calling on me to be here serving HIM, and I have been blessed beyond belief. But somehow I lost that focus. Yes, I was working on things with all my heart, but somewhere along the journey I was doing it for myself and not for the one who called me. The Bible calls us to work for the LORD and not for men. I believe when we are serving the Lord he will continue to bless our ministries. So today I am checking my focus and my heart and seeking to work for the Lord and not for man. My prayers are with you as you continue to seek and serve the Lord as well.

Goli….home again! Saturday I flew back into Sudan. It surprised me as everything seemed so normal to me. But then I realized that I am back home and again my heart was singing with joy. The compound is green and lush and I even have beautiful flowers near my front porch. Training started this week for the teachers and the students will begin classes next week. All the students have passed last term and are excited to begin again. Please pray as we have three new students joining us this term. Pray for their transition and the teachers as well. I was also greeted warmly by all my kitchen girls. Pray for them as we continue meeting together that they will be faithful to this time set aside and God will work in their hearts.

Lord you are….

Like the flower petals: unique, precise, beautiful

Like the flowing river, always fresh and reviving the soul

Like the musical birds making melodies to the heart

Like the green grass vibrant in color

Like the hum of languages spoken-beautiful

Like the quietness of a heart searching for its way

Who is the Lord to you today?
