Yesterday we went to the church in Potherlaka. The service was to celebrate the anniversary of the dedication of the church. The whole village came to the church for a meal. Not everyone came into the church for the worship service. There were many there who had worn Bibles and the Sunday school had a special program. Just as there were many encouraging things, we noticed many ways that they needed clear teaching in the Word. Pray that a missionary could come and minister to them and live as an example before them.
Drunkenness is a real problem here. Pray that they would turn to the Lord and that He would deliver them from this.
After the service in Potherlanka we returned and went to a one year memorial of a death. The man had been distraught and committed suicide. The family is still very upset about it. Kevin Olson spoke at the service.
